Ever-Bloom's flower-growing tradition can be traced back 15 generations, to 1699 and the Cornelius family of Holland. Every generation since then, for 288 years has grown flowers or fruit and vegetables. In 1967 John and Maria Van Wingerden immigrated from Holland with three other Van Wingerden families. There were four sets of parents with a total of 24 kids. The four brothers founded "Dutch Brothers", a well known name in the floral industry in its day. The Dutch Brothers were responsible for helping their sons set up ten additional flower nurseries.

It has been said that neither a garden, nor a gardener can be made in one year, nor in one generation even. With 15 generations (and probably more) of constant dedication to the art and science of growing - we know flowers.

Holland, as every schoolchild knows, is the land of flowers and where we're from. For centuries it has been world-renown as a center for research and development of superior flowers. And, we still get all of our Gerbera cultures from there, where the strains are developed using the newest biotechnology. While Holland nurseries constantly strengthen old varieties and create new ones, Southern California is the land of mild weather year-round. It is the best climate for growing Gerberas as Ever-Bloom has demonstrated for over 20 years. Eduard Van Wingerden, founder of Ever-Bloom recognized that fact in 1979, and after growing Gerberas and several other flower crops, decided in 1984 to specialize in Gerberas only.

Sue Nagelmann started with the company in 1984 and oversees Sales and Operations, and Spring gamez, who started in 1999, is the head salesperson at Ever-Bloom.

Now, Ever-Bloom encompasses over 650,000 square feet of glass greenhouses, utilizing the latest hydroponic technological advancements, to grow and ship the largest variety and the highest quality Gerbera and Germini flowers available anywhere in the states... and beyond.

As an environmentally friendly company, Ever-Bloom continually experiments with biological pest control to reduce pesticide use. Predacious insects are released in various areas of the greenhouse to prey on harmful, plant eating insects. The newly installed hydroponic glass-wool system will not only help to produce a better quality flower, but also creates the ability to re-circulate the run-off irrigation water. Also, by growing our plants on specially designed tables, air circulation surrounding the flowers has improved, with the added benefit of virtually eliminating stoop labor.

The irrigation system flows throughout the greenhouse. Above that, bugs are applied to flowers to control pests.

A complex system of integrated pipes and hoses allows for run-off to be recycled. Top and bottom heating promotes plant  growth and prevents disease.

Ever-Bloom's most valuable asset is the team of dedicated individuals, most of whom have been around for years. From the cutting room to customer service, everyone works together to create a prosperous and fun working environment and to make your experience with our flowers a good one.
